Brooklyn Heights Area Couple’s Clean House Episode Airing This Week

The episode of the Style Network’s Clean House New York shot here over the summer is airing this week. It feature’s “Josh and Millie” of Cobble Hill who tussle over their messy home and pricing their extra stuff sold at a Plymouth Church thrift sale which pulled in about $7Gs for the couple. Watch a clip after the jump.

Ok, so “Homer” didn’t see the beginning of the show saying these folks are from Cobble Hill. The headline has been changed to reflect “reality”… sorta.

Please pardon me while I throw up.

The couple do not live in Brooklyn Heights- they are, I believe, on Baltic Street. The sale, however, was held at Plymouth Church with very little publicity given to it.

It aired last week. Looked like Cobble Hill to me.

I’ve been in my fair share of apartments that made my skin crawl. These people made my skin crawl. I’m sorry you feel bad about not buying an $800 swimsuit – what’s the point if you’re going to leave it in a disgusting pile on the floor anyway? I can’t believe these people have a nicer place and nicer stuff than 99% of humanity and this is how they treat it.

There was another show aired recently on Genevieve’s HGTV show about a quick re-do of an apartment in the Heights. That was interesting.

Should be retitled: The revolting over-consumption by materialistic yuppies.

We went to the sale. I almost bought a pair of their used shoes.
    Oh wait…

Can such people really live in our beautiful neighborhood? Are they so much creatures of this ghastly age that they’re not ashamed to expose themselves as they did in public? To ask the question, of course, is to answer it.

“If you don’t believe you’re gonna be one of those [hugely successful] writers, you’ll never make more money than you do now.” Ha! Even the hugely successful writers aren’t making as much as they used to. Wake up, Milie! Your dream life is crumbling!

  • Gerry

These people made $7K at a church sale on their used stuff?

    NO WAY!

Something is wrong with this number maybe they made $700 if they were very lucky.

This broad is an evil cow and should be ashamed for the rest of her life for letting her children live in a hellhole like that while she picked apart her husband like a bug. The fact that they thought they were ok to put themselves on camera is a harbinger of doom for those kids.

  • pankymom

BTW, they got a month of free rent out of the show deal too, as a ‘gift.’

At first, I had a terrible time getting the embedded video to play. Now it autodownloads every time I check the latest comments on this thread. I manually drag the download bar to the end, to reduce the wasted bandwidth (that I need for opening up the other threads!). I wonder if there is another option?

  • Jorale-man

It’s hard to know how much the producers edited this segment to make the couple look awful (and sloppy). But the fact that they agreed to going on TV to broadcast this (and “E” no less) doesn’t speak to their powers of common sense.

  • BKMommy

I have met Millie on a few occassions through parents groups in the neighborhood and while I don’t know her well, she comes off comically pretentious in person so I’m not surprised that anyone would get that impression from watching her on tv.

  • Arch Stanton

She can wear all the designer crap she wants, she’ll still be an ugly pig.

  • Publius

Arch: I’d like to see a reality show starring you. Oh wait, How the Grinch Stole Christmas was already done.

I nominate Snarch for the 2011 BHB Troll Award for exceptional douchiness above and beyond normal trolling.

  • Arch Stanton

    Dear Publius,
    Thank you so much.
    Then what made you “throw-up”?

  • Willow St. Neighbor

It’s a reality show. I wonder how much they got paid?

  • Eddyenergizer

Jorale-man, My girlfriend is an editor of “reality shows” and yes, they do a lot of “spinning” to accentuate negative situations and exaggerate drama…

  • CG Resident

Ok, ok. I don’t know Josh at all, but I know Millie from a mutual friend. She is very nice in real life. The show did not paint her true to reality. Be nice, folks!

  • BKMommy

CG Resident – talked to a bunch of friends about this episode over the weekend – apparently quite a few of the mommies in the ‘hood cannot stand Millie and said that she is horrible in real life and this is just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve only met her twice and I wasn’t a fan. Glad that my gut was right!

_____________ Oh Publius where are you?

  • Publius

Right here Snarch. I see you’re again staying up late drinking and typing with one hand.

lame-o way of avoiding the question, Pubby.
