Primary Day – Vote scanners broken at Borough Hall

Both vote scanners from the new electronic voting system have broken down at the Borough Hall voting location (104, 105, 106 and 107 election districts). Ballots are being stored in the emergency box until a technician arrives (which nobody thinks will be soon). Fortunately, with only one judgeship on the ballot, voting is extremely light (I was voter #1 for ED 107 at 7:30 in the morning)

The scanner at the location on Montaque street gave me a error message but the poll workers said…don’t worry, it probably recorded. Not very confident at all that my vote counted.

They are working now. Some of the electrical outlets at Borough Hall do not have power for some reason, which caused some confusion.

What if they had an election an nobody voted?

Did the old lever-pull machines require electricity?

Not for the mechanics; only for the light.
