Weekend Subway Non-Diversions

Those of you who stay in town for all or part of the long Labor Day weekend will find all of the trains serving stations in or near Brooklyn Heights–the 2 and 3 at Clark Street and Borough Hall, the 4 at Borough Hall (the 5 doesn’t come to Brooklyn on weekends and holidays), the A and C at High and Jay streets, the F at Jay and York streets, and the R at Court Street–will be running normally. Have a happy holiday.

    What about the G?

    Thank, you, Jesus!

The G? The G! Does anyone actually ride the G?

Seriously, Julee, you did pick the one line on which there is some diversionary action this weekend. From 11:00 tonight (Friday) until 8:00 a.m. tomorrow, from 11:00 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) until 8:00 a.m. Monday (i.e. including all day Sunday), and from 11:00 p.m. Monday until 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, there will be no G trains between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Avenue. There will be service between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Queens, including Williamsburg and Greenpoint. To reach Church Avenue or other stations on the G south of Hoyt-Schermerhorn, use the F from Jay Street-Metrotech. I haven’t included the G in these reports because it doesn’t stop at any station closer to the Heights than Hoyt-Schermerhorn, but since there are those here who use it, I will add it to future ones.

AEB: since the subways are largely underground, you should probably be thanking Pluto.

    Goofy too?

Goofy only controls the G train. That’s why it’s messed up this weekend.
