It’s a case of all the news that’s fit to steal.
A knuckle-headed thief was nabbed when he tried to snatch piles of New York Times from a Brooklyn Heights store, sources said.
An investigator for the broadsheet spotted Gary Stewart, 50, snatching the papers from in front of a store on Atlantic Avenue near Clinton Street on Saturday morning, sources said.
Stewart hopped into a cab and fled, but the private eye followed.
A few blocks away, the investigator was able to stop the suspect, even though Stewart allegedly punched him in the face.
The suspect is charged with attempted assault, menacing and petit larceny, according to a spokesman for the DA.
