Judy Stanton of the BHA has the word from the DOS garage:
Everyone may put their regular trash out tonight, and expect that there will be a few trucks out in the Heights tomorrow, and even more trucks out tomorrow night. However, be advised that most of our service in Brooklyn Heights will occur late in the day, or overnight tomorrow. This is ALSO TRUE FOR THE WEDNESDAY RECYCLING STREETS.
To be on the safe side, go ahead and put out your recyclables tonight, but don’t be surprised if it isn’t all gone before you wake up on Thursday morning. PLEASE, please think about where you are putting the trash. Be thoughtful of the neighbors, and ALSO be sure that it is placed out on the far side of snow banks, where the DSNY workers will surely see it and be able to reach it. Collection takes forever if they have to walk halfway down your block in search of ‘hidden’ bags.
