Guest Blog: Judson Morgan, His Heights Based Film Debuts at Brooklyn Film Fest May 31

Title: The Collective, indie film shot in Brooklyn Heights, premieres at Brooklyn Film Fest May 31st.

This independent thriller was the brain-child of married couple Kelly Overton and Judson Pearce Morgan while they lived on Clark Street. Taking walks on the promenade at dusk gave them the idea to set an entire sequence of the film there, overlooking the sunsetting across the water. Kelly Overton, who you may remember from her star turn opposite Kathleen Turner in The Graduate on Broadway, plays a young woman in search of her sister who’s gotten mixed up with a secret community living in a deconsecrated cathedral.

Other Brooklyn locals round out the cast, Shane McRae and James Yaegashi, both Broadway actors themselves, hale from the burg. Come to the Premiere at the Brooklyn Lyceum theater at 8pm Sat May 31st to see the film and meet the filmmakers for a Q & A afterwards.

Visit thecollectivemovie.com to see the trailer and wbff.org for tickets. May 31st 8pm, June 5th 8pm, Brooklyn Lyceum Theater.

Watch the trailer after the jump.
