This in from Judy Stanton of the Brooklyn Heights Association:
The latest word from our Sanitation garage superintendent is that he’s sending out garbage trucks tonight and tomorrow throughout the Heights, and he expects to collect all garbage EXCEPT FOR RECYCLABLES before the snow starts tomorrow afternoon.
Regarding recyclables: FINALLY, the DSNY plans to resume recycling collections on Monday, unless we get more snow than is currently in the forecast.
If Monday is your regular pick-up day for recyclables, wait until Sunday night to put out those bags. If Wednesday is your regular recycling day, please continue to hold your recyclables until Tuesday night for Wednesday collection.
No word on whether, if Monday is your recyclables pick-up day and the collection is postponed again because of snow, your recyclables will be picked up Tuesday (presuming the streets are clear by then) or Wednesday, or if you’ll have to wait until the following Monday.
