The Brooklyn Eagle reports on Brooklyn Heights resident Richard Koral director of the Division of Continuing Education’s Apartment House Institute (AHI) at New York City College of Technology:
Brooklyn Eagle: Housing, More than Cars…: “Scientific consensus now suggests that we are at a critical time on our planet,” says Koral. “If we do not sharply reduce our use of carbon-emission-producing forms of energy and very soon,” he says, “the future environment may be so dramatically altered as to threaten civilization itself. With respect to our homes, much of our energy use is just profligate waste that could be greatly reduced or eliminated altogether by better habits and by our paying closer attention to how we design, operate and maintain the residential buildings that are more responsible than anything else for atmospheric pollution.
