On Friday evening, October 12, beginning at 8:00 p.m., Grace Church (Hicks Street and Grace Court, between Joralemon and Remsen) will present "Songs of Hope," a concert of contemporary American music, performed by Grace's Music Director, Paul Richard Olson, on piano, Shannon Spicciati on oboe, and soprano Janeanne Houston. The program will include the world premiere of Cummings' Suite, by the North Carolinian composer Dan Locklair, and the New York premieres of Songs of the Cotton Grass by Hilary Tann, and a new work by Seattle composer Carol Sams. Also on the program are works by Simon Sargon and Lori Laitman.
Admission is $15, and includes a wine and hors d'ouvres reception after the concert.
