It’s so meta, it’s going to be great! The King of All Brooklyn Historians/Walking Tours, Francis Morrone, will be speaking about the history of the walking tour this coming Friday, April 23, at 7pm at the Brooklyn Historical Society. Tickets available here.
Brooklyn Eagle: Titled “How the Architectural Walking Tour Built the Preservation Movement,” the event features historian and journalist Francis Morrone, who will explain how the first walking tours in the 1950s — sponsored by the Municipal Art Society, Museum of the City of New York and the Brooklyn Heights Association — made the public aware as never before of the city’s historic architecture, and helped pave the way for the Landmarks Law of 1965.
