This is a tough choice but I think I’m going to have to go with Jeremy’s photo! Great nighttime shot.
    What does the winner get?

  • AAR

Gotta vote for the intrepid postman by Wilsonworld for the following qualities – composition, human interest and a living example of the tired but sometimes true USPS motto.

  • bornhere

I’m with the mailman, too — it shows some of our architecture, trees, a great FDNY pull-box, and one determined mail carrier (and after the dust-up over the “postal video,” we should give credit where it’s due). I also looked at some of wilsonworld’s other pictures — they are really neat.

Me for Larry’s very characterful snowman. Its scale in relation to the people behind. Scenic snow scenes all become one in my head…or eyes.

Wilsonworld rules! The postman image should be used by the post office. It describes their creed perfectly and the landscape is unmistakeably Bklyn.

    “Mailman” delivers.

  • Val

    Wilsonworld poignantly captures the moment.

“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.”

So many great, photos! Well done, everyone…

Mailman for sure! Love that one.

  • nabeguy

They’re all great. Especially love Erin’s snow blossom. But wilsoworld’s postal shot really captures the feeling of the storm. I had to look twice to realize that what I thought was a B/W photo was really just a color photo of white-out conditions.

  • AEB

Elyssa’s photo. I like the scenic and peaceful feel.

  • Marilyn

I like the wilsonworld at the top with the cross-country skier.

I like the photo by Elyssa. The sepia tone makes it looked old fashioned, and the snow-covered bicycle captures the unpredictable nature of NY weather – you can be riding a bike one day, shoveling snow the next!

  • AEB

(Hey! A second AEB? Do I have to rechristen myself AEB1?)

Have to go with “Wilsonworld”. I don’t know from art, but I know what I like.

  • PC

Love the freshly fallen scenes in “Wilsonworld” – they each get it just perfect….

The Picture with the mailmna says it all.

Elyssa! It perfectly captures the serene and picturesque snowy nights in the Heights!

  • gella

wilsonworld – mailman. not only is it a great picture – doesn’t it really show the post office motto of through sleet and rain and snow!
