Brooklyn Heights Artist Creates Ford Stamp

7008551_BG1.jpgBrooklyn Heights resident and artist Michael Deas is the creator of a new U.S. postage stamp honoring President Gerald R. Ford.  On Friday, the 38th president's widow, Betty, unveiled it in a ceremony near her home in Palm Desert, California while her son Michael held an event in Ford's hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Deas has also created stamps honoring Marilyn Monroe, Humphrey Bogart and Ronald Reagan.

Somehow, I don’t think licking this stamp will provide the same satisfaction as the Marilyn one did. More likely, you’ll end up with a paper-cut tongue, in keeping with Mr. Ford’s reputation.
