BREAKING NEWS: 60 Henry Street Scaffolding Coming Down?

Looks like the scaffolding surrounding 60 Henry Street, aka "Corner of Cranberry", finally FINALLY is being taken down.  Trying to track down details now. If you have any info on this, post a comment or send us an email. Thanks to "Christina" and "Jenni" for alerting us to this.

The scaffolding had been around forever, and had become an eyesore. Think this will improve the businesses situated there? Or does the curse transcend construction woes?

It’s been there for so long, it almost doesn’t look right without it.

    SAVE THE SCAFFOLDING!

Scaffolding provides shade and shelter from the rain as well as a home to dozens of pigeons.
Scaffolding does not have an invasive root system and only grows as large as it is constructed.
Scaffolding provides a great place to lock up your bike.

Speak up now! Before you know it, there will be no more scaffolding in your ‘nabe!

Oh please, please tell me this means that the scaffolding that goes around the corner to 80 Cranberry is coming down too?

From the looks of it, it is indeed all coming down. They removed the wood platforms yesterday, and appear to be taking down the framework today. Can those businessess that outlasted it survive in the light of day? It certainly can’t hurt them, that’s for sure. Now TBC can actually place its newstand at the curb, instead of blocking foot traffic where they have it now.

Oven cannot be saved. it’s a stupid concept with even worse food. Who wants to pay for fancy wine while eating pizza and craptastic apps? uhhhh, no thanks. just another bomb from those geniuses at uncommon grounds. jsut waiting to see what comes in next.

speaking of scaffolding…what’s going on with the scaffolding at the Post Office – it too has been up forever!!!the renovations we believe have been completed….a terrible ugly eyesore around a magnificent brooklyn landmark….

Maybe this will attract new businesses and restaurants that don’t suck…

I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. I’m sure the people in those places are glad to see the sun. I still have not tried Oven, but Blue Pig is good and the Busy Chef has some good stuff, too. Also, have not tried Uncommon Grounds – all the time I’ve walked by, they’ve been closed.

I wouldn’t put any hope into the idea of anything happening at the post office before the next election.

How many people really in one week have dinner in Brooklyn instead of going into Manhattan? It would be very curious to know that guys. I know it depense of the restaurant that you go to and the access to the city is so easy, but how many nights you actually stay home and cooking in a week.
Just a little survey to understand my neighborhood.
    Thanks

Blue pig is good only cause its the ONLY ice cream place there. uncommon grounds is lame, they take their food from busy chef and it all looks like its been bought at costco. i love the other restaurants in town but when i see oven, BC and uncommon grounds i feel like i’m being duped.

I cook at home about 4x a week and go out or take out about 3x a week.

are you people for real? “Trying to track down details now”?!?!!?!?!?!!
    Get some lives.
Oh, and SEO — did someone *force* you to eat at any of those restaurants?
Blue Pig’s ice cream is good – period. Not because it’s the only place there.
Would you prefer a lovely, corporate Haagen-Dazs for your moronic palate?
