Brooklyn Bridge Celebrates Manhattan Bridge’s 100th

BHB Photo Club member Josh Derr caught the fireworks display for the Manhattan Bridge’s 100th Anniversary Sunday night.  He comments that the first salvo appeared over the Brooklyn Bridge.

    It is nice to know – finally – what all the thundering noise was about Sunday evening. Wish it had been advertised or promoted more broadly. I thought at first that we were under seige and then wondered what holiday it was.

    Thought they were really amazing…half the fun is running from our place to the promenade with the rest of brooklyn heights in full gallop as well – even the cabbies left their cars for this one!

    The 7:30 fireworks were for the Diwali festival at South Street seaport. The 8:15 fireworks were for the Manhattan Bridge centennial.

    Well, I thought they were FABULOUS!! One of the many great things about living in Bklyn Heights is the chance of a surprise fireworks spectacular!
