It was back to business at last night’s Community Board 2 meeting, including a packed house following the group’s summer hiatus. Don’t worry if you couldn’t make it, because we have your full round-up:
Pierrepont St. Update: The 84th precinct’s Lt. Jeff Peterson was on hand and he had an update on last week’s brutal assault on Pierrepont Street. The attacker’s vehicle has been recovered, and fingerprints were found. Detectives are working on tracking down the perp.
Year-to-date crime has been down in every category for the 84th, Peterson said during the rest of his presentation. And the squad has recently focused on cracking down on bicyclists riding their bikes on the sidewalk. Nine summons have been issues this week alone, he said.
New Website: Community Board 2 has been without a functioning website for quite some time, and last night it was announced that any day a new site will be launched.
Parking Regulations: A reminder that alternate-side parking regulations for most of Brooklyn Heights will be reinstated next week.
Free Flu Shots: Assemblywoman Joan Millman was present and she announced her office would be offering free flu shots at 341 Smith Street around the end of the September or early October. If you’re interested, you can call her office at 718-246-4889.
