Repast Baroque Ensemble Presents “Harvest Festival” Saturday Afternoon

The Repast Baroque Ensemble will return this Saturday afternoon, starting at 3:00, to the McKinney Chapel of the First Unitarian Congregational Society, Brooklyn, 121 Pierrepont Street, to open their 2024-25 season, which has the theme “Feast Days.” Saturday’s concert will celebrate the Harvest Festival. It will feature Repast’s regular members; Natalie Rose Kress on violin, Sarah Abigael Stone on cello, Stephanie Corwin on bassoon, and Gabe Shuford on harpsichord, joined by guest musicians Aisslinn Nosky on violin and Kevin Devine on hurdy-gurdy.  They will perform music by

the three brothers, Nicolas, Pierre, and Esprit Phillippe Chedeville. The brothers wrote music for the amusement of French aristocracy, finding rustic life to be the height of fashion a generation before Marie-Antoinette was playing peasant at Le Hameau de la Reine.

There’s more information and you may purchase tickets here, or at the door. Repast will present more festival concerts over the course of fall, late winter, and spring. We’ll keep you advised.
