The laborers on the MTA won’t get much rest this Labor Day weekend, as there’s much track repair and electrical improvement work to be done. From late evening Friday, August 30 to early morning Tuesday, September 3 there will be no service at High Street, as A and C trains going in both directions will be re-routed to the F line between Jay Street-MetroTech and Canal Street. This, of course, means extra service at York Street in DUMBO. From late Friday evening until early Labor Day Monday morning there will be no 3 train service at Clark Street or Borough Hall. 2 trains should be running normally and providing service to and from Manhattan and making all 3 stops between Borough Hall and Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College. 4 trains should also be running normally and will make all 3 stops between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and New Lots Avenue. At Court Street and the N/R platforms at Jay Street-MetroTech, there will be no late night R service Friday to Saturday through Monday to Tuesday. There will also be no Manhattan bound N service, but Manhattan bound Q trains will be re-routed to the R line and serve Jay Street-MetroTech and Court Street. Travelers to Manhattan can transfer from the Q to the N at Canal Street.
The following work week, Tuesday, September 3 through Friday, September 6, there will be some late night service changes affecting local stations. Late nights Tuesday to Wednesday through Thursday to Friday, the suspension of 3 train service will continue, with 2 and 4 trains providing alternate service as described above. All late nights there will be no R service at Court Street or at the N/R platforms at Jay Street-MetroTech, but there should be N train service in both directions late night Tuesday to Wednesday and Wednesday to Thursday. Thursday to Friday N trains will be re-routed to the Q line, so there will be no service at Court Street or at the N/R platforms at Jay street-MetroTech.
These are the PLANNED changes affecting local service for this weekend and for the following week.
