Deborah O’Connor, in cooperation with the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange, is ready to work her scissors magic and create silhouette portraits cut “in exacting detail.”
The resulting image often astounds—not only does the silhouette capture the likeness of the person, but it also conveys something essential about their character. This quality is particular to the fine art of silhouette cutting and is the reason the art-form is still in demand, decades after its heyday in the 1700’s.
You may order portraits by emailing photos of the subject. There’s more information here. For questions, please email bwe.silhouettes@gmail.
