The Night That Brooklyn Heights Closed (Until Further Notice)

Not much to say here. Just sharing some photos taken tonight.

The night that Henry Street Ale House was forced to close by 8:00 p.m. until further notice.

20200316_154718The night that Fortune House expressed its gratitude to customers.

20200316_185800The night that CVS was sold out of all paper goods, despite a limit of one per household.

20200316_190422The night that one customer got in one more dinner at Clark’s Restaurant before it closed its dining room and readied for take-out and delivery only.

20200316_192004Let’s support our local small businesses in these difficult times. Order in from neighborhood restaurants. Purchase gift cards for later use. Practice social distancing, diligently. Leave a note for your elderly neighbors to see if they need supplies. Be kind to yourself and others. Be kind in the comment sections. Let’s get through this as a community.

I hope & pray that our local businesses can withstand the economic impact.

Also: if you order online from a local restaurant, please try to use their own website if they have one. GrubHub, DoorDash, Seamless, and other apps take as much as 30% of your total bill. That doesn’t help our local businesses.

    Or, God forbid, call them…

Seamless and Grubhub say they have waived their fees.

  • Knight

They waived their delivery fees to the consumer, not the percentage that they get from the restaurant.

No, they waived their commissions. Or are deferring them.
