On Thursday at the Brooklyn Cat Cafe on Atlantic Avenue, Mike Phillips will talk about how to successfully integrate a rescue cat into your home in his talk “Happily Ever After: Post-TNR Tips On Bringing a New Cat Home.”
He’ll offer suggestions and techniques to calm adopters, cats and rescuers at all stages of the adoption process, from ensuring that the first meeting is successful, to introduction to the new home, helping the family to bond with their new cat, and finally, introducing two (or more) cats without the fur flying.
Phillips is the co-founder and president of Urbancatleague.org and community outreach coordinator for the NYC Feral Cat Initiative. He comes to animal rescue after 20 years on the directing staff of the New York City Opera.
His talk is from 7 – 9 pm and tickets are available online. A $5 reservation holds your seat, and the fee will be refunded if you attend the class or cancel within 48 hours.

Saturday 11 am – 7 pm
Visits to the Cafe are $5 per half hour.
Adults only:
Thursdays and Saturdays: 5:30 pm – 7 pm
Quiet work hours:
Monday: 11 am – 3 pm
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10 am – 2 pm
Work among the cats for $10 an hour with wifi included. Seats are limited.
