I love the BHB, but the constant stalking of our more famous neighbors makes me more than uncomfortable. And clearly this is one neighbor who would definitely not like to be noticed in the hood. Can we please stop covering his every move? please?

  • Wiley E.

I agree with harumph. Let’s not chase him away.

  • http://inklake.typepad.com Peter Kaufman

Agreed. It should be Fight Club rules.

  • Publius

I’ve been saying this for months, and all I get on this board is bellyaching about pointing out that BHB is violating people’s privacy.

The starf**k mentality is juvenile. If this is a real neighborhood, we’ll leave our neighbors to their privacy and stop the blog-based stalking/gawking.

Unless he doesn’t pick up after his dog. Then all bets are off. ;)

    harumph,
I totally agree with you. I have never understood the obsession that some of the residents here have with Paul G’s comings and goings. He is a brilliant actor but he’s a person too who wants to remain anonymous in his own neighborhood.

Really? I’m sure Mr. Giamatti APPRECIATES the PRESS his new movie is getting here.

I’m told that ABC is a widely distributed television network.

  • Jorale-man

I like the fact that he feels comfortable going out in the neighborhood and I’d hate to see an obsessive mentality develop to the point where he’s no longer comfortable here. Nothing wrong with talking about his latest project but I like that it stays at that level.

  • Homer Fnk

@jorale – Whether or not BHB writes about him or other residents has zero impact on that.

However, comments like these make ME want to pop a cap in this blog.

The fact that Paul Giamatti lives in Brooklyn Heights is a matter of public record. We are not “stalking” his every move, taking pictures of him in his pajamas, revealing what’s in his garbage, nor getting in his personal business, whatsoever.

Reporting on an acclaimed actor’s public appearances is a matter of pride for many of us in the neighborhood and hardly “gawking.” If it makes you uncomfortable, move on to the next post and please keep the venom to yourself.

If we weeded out every post that offended someone, your neighborhood Brooklyn Heights Blog would be blank.

  • Homer Fnk

And while we’re at it – you kids get off my lawn!

  • Mr. Crusty

How is he being “stalked”. Reporting that he was on national TV show watched by millions is “stalking” him? Actors go on these shows to publicize their work. He just got some more free publicity. Why would anyone assume that he would object to that? Really these terms ; obsessive mentality, stalking, violating his privacy are absurd.

  • http://inklake.typepad.com Peter

    @Mr. Crusty,

Of course he doesn’t object to being on tv. Now being identified as a neighborhood resident isn’t the end of the world either, I guess it’s a slow news day.

That said, there are other posts that mention the addresses of these people. THAT is what I take issue with.

  • Livingston

Unless BHB is publishing his address, phone # and/or personal itinerary, I don’t see the correlation w/ privacy infringement or potential stalking.

I think the multiple tv & movie shoots in our neighborhood offer more opportunity for this type of activity, if you’re so inclined.

Personally, I love hearing about the exploits of BHB residents — famous, infamous, or everyday joes.
