Eagle on Capote

The Brooklyn Eagle has an in depth piece about Truman Capote, former resident of the basement apartment at 70 Willow Street. Of interest: The New York Times reported that a manuscript for Summer’s Crossing was retrieved by the author’s housesitter from a box of documents he left on the curb when he moved away in 1966. When the manuscript failed to sell at a Sotheby’s auction, the New York Public Library purchased it at an undisclosed price. (Note: the Eagle article erroneously mentions that it had sold at auction.)
