Palmira’s Space, Once on Track to House Tea Lounge, Back on Market

The restaurant space at 41 Clark Street once home to Palmira’s and for a few shining moments last year the promised home of a new Tea Lounge (womp womp) is back on the market.  Brownstoner reports that the asking price is $9000/month for the 4272 square foot retail space.  CPEX Real Estate is marketing the property as a general commercial space good for retail, day care or professional offices.

In October,  Tea Lounge owner Jonathan Spiel claimed that the demands of the 111 Hicks Co-op board, who control the space,  were causing him to scuttle his plans to open an outlet at 41 Clark Street.  Most of those issues appeared to be centered around the board’s concern about potential noise complaints.

Spiel shared his vision of what a Brooklyn Heights Tea Lounge would be in this video shot by reporter Sarah Portlock:

$9G’s sounds about right. Maybe even a bit low for that much space. Is it really that big, or are they measuring cubic feet?

Its big; there is a very nice bar area in the back. I wish they could bring back the Heights Cafe (no relation to the other one) that they had there in the 1980’s-they had a great Sunday brunch!!
