Update: Because of yesterday’s collision and derailment of 1 trains on the Upper West Side, 2 train service at Clark Street will be disrupted until further notice. Brooklyn bound 2 trains will be re-routed to the 5 line between Nevins Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse in the Bronx. This means no Manhattan bound 2 service at Clark Street, although Manhattan and Brooklyn bound 3 trains should be running normally. Also, some Brooklyn bound 2 trains will be re-routed to the 5 line. These re-routings will cause some delays in 4 and 5 service. There will be numerous changes and cancellations of service in Manhattan above Grand Central. Check the MTA website for further updates.
Would you believe? It’s another “green light weekend.” From late Friday evening, January 5 to early Monday morning, January 8 there are no planned cancellations, route changes, or station skips directly affecting service at any local stations. 2 trains will be running on a reduced schedule – every twelve minutes – Saturday and Sunday because they’ll be sharing track with both 3 and 1 trains for a stretch in Manhattan. However, there will be more frequent than usual R train service, to make up for N trains not running between Manhattan and Queens.
The following work week (Monday morning, January 8 through Friday evening, January 12) late nights Monday to Tuesday and Tuesday to Wednesday there will be no Brooklyn bound service at York Street in DUMBO, but extra Brooklyn bound service at High Street, as Brooklyn bound F trains will be re-routed to the A/C line from Canal Street to Jay Street-MetroTech. Late nights Wednesday to Thursday and Thursday to Friday there will be no Manhattan bound service at York Street but extra Manhattan bound service at High Street, as Manhattan bound F trains will be re-routed to the A/C line between Jay Street and Canal Street.
While there are no PLANNED service changes for this weekend and few for the following week, always check MTA Info for unplanned service changes that may affect local service or service on other parts of your trip, or for planned service changes that affect stations to or from which you may be traveling.
