14th Annual Juneteenth presents Kaleidoscope of Black Culture
“Juneteenth is the oldest, nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States of America…[The] Juneteenth Family Fun Day Festival gathers 20,000+ attendees local to the NYC community to enjoy a vibrant day of rich culture through music, dance, poetry, skits, history, vendors, and family activities for single-family homes, married with children, and extended family.”
Festival Community Day in Linden Park on Saturday, June 17th with Kids Zone and over sixty vendors and activities. Concert, parade, and fashion show Prospect Park, Nethermead on Sunday, June 18th. You must register for each day’s events separately.
Photoville, DUMBO
The containers are back and on display at Dumbo’s newly-minted Emily Warren Roebling Plaza. “Returning for its 12th consecutive year, the annual Photoville Festival is excited to feature the return of our Photoville Village in Brooklyn Bridge Park with some of our classic shipping containers, in addition to open-air exhibitions throughout all five boroughs of New York City.” Saturday and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Coney Island Mermaid Parade
The Coney Island Mermaid Parade has long been considered the official start of summer in NYC. Step right up! Behold the costumed casts of characters as they preen and bribe the judges as they strut down Surf Avenue. Don’t miss the spectacle! The parade takes place rain or shine.
