If I’m to believe the MTA’s website, this weekend — late Friday evening, May 12 to early Monday morning, May 15 — will be another “green light” weekend, with no planned service changes negatively affecting service at any local stations, apart from 2 trains running on a reduced schedule (every 15 minutes) on Sunday. There will be a bonus in service at Court Street and at the N/R platforms at Jay Street-MetroTech, as N trains, which normally do not serve these stations during daytime, will be r-routed to the R line all weekend.
I’m going to delay posting service alerts for the coming work week until Sunday, when the info on the MTA website may be more current. The reason for my disclaimer at the beginning of this post is that, while the info I’ve posted for many years has never been challlenged, for the past two weeks a reader has told me that, over the weekend, there have been subway route diversions of the “planned maintenance” rather than the temporary emergency kind, that weren’t reflected in my post. If you encounter any diversions or service cancellations of that kind this weekend, dear reader, please let me know in a comment on this post. I’ll close with my usual disclaimer:
While there are no PLANNED service changes affecting service at local stations for this weekend and the following week, always check MTA Info for unplanned service changes that may affect local service or service on other parts of your trip, or for planned service changes that affect stations to or from which you may be traveling. You can also get real time service alerts: register here.
