A couple of times a year, the Underground Thrift Store (which is upstairs at Plymouth Church) clears its shelves and you, dear customers, are the lucky recipients.
On Sunday, June 17 and Sunday, June 24 from 12:30 – 4:00 pm, for $25 you can “stuff a sack” with clothes and shoes for men, women, and children, supporting anti-slavery and human trafficking causes. The shop donates 25% of its net proceeds to Restore NYC.
Located at 65 Hicks Street, the shop will close after the 24th until September 9th for summer vacation.
Volunteer opportunities: The Underground Thrift also accepts donations of gently used designer wear on Sundays at the shop or during the week at Plymouth Church. In addition to shoppers, the shop could also use volunteers to help sort and hang merchandise, clerk in the store and to post updates on social media.
For more information contact undergroundthrift@plymouthchurch.org and follow the shop on Facebook.
