Happy update, February 19: Bella and Diva are safe and warm in a Staten Island foster home…now to find them a forever home!
From our friends at the Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition:
Sweet, tiny, and abandoned, 18-month-old Bella and Diva were taped into a box and thrown onto a garbage pile in sub-freezing temperatures. A local trap-neuter-release colony caretaker saw the box moving and rescued these girls before they froze to death.
Friendly and talkative, these girls were left with a note, written, apparently, by a caretaker who could no longer meet that responsibility. It’s possible that they were left somewhere safer, then tossed out by whoever found them.
Bella is outgoing, talkative, and a devoted lap cat who loves to snuggle and give kitty kisses. Despite her name, Diva is a little shyer, but loves having her chin scratched and follows her sister’s lead.
We desperately need a responsible foster or adoptive home for Bella and Diva! They are adorable, sweet felines who have survived a horrid situation, and they deserve a safe home. The girls are OK with other friendly cats who give them space, but would love to be a caretaker’s special kitties. They are currently in a temporary home and spending most of their time in a crate. Wherever they go next, they will need to stay together.
Bella and Diva are spayed, fully vaccinated, FIV/
