The Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition is holding an adoption event at Grand Army Plaza in Park Slope on Saturday, June 21st from 10 am to 3 pm.
This rescue group has “oodles” of friendly cats and kittens who are waiting for their forever homes, and they’re teaming up with Long Island’s North Shore Animal Hospital to help find homes for the dozens of kittens they’ve taken care of this spring.
Look for the North Shore van and take home a loving, adorable feline (or two?)!
If you can’t adopt, you can also help by fostering or donating–check out BBAWC’s website and Facebook page for more info. You can also follow on Twitter, and see some of the group’s adoptable pets here.
Among the cats available for adoption are the lovable Chipmunks, who have been cared for by Brooklyn-based The American Street Cat (TASC). From TASC:
Alvin, Simon, and Theo could not be any sweeter or happier, despite the rocky road between their first adoption together as kittens and their being relinquished to TASC as teenagers five months ago. They have utterly blossomed since January, especially Theo. What came back to us as a nervous nellie is now the first one in bed to say hello when the alarm goes off. The Chipmunks just love being loved again, and they give it back in kind.
While we know it’s nearly impossible to place three 2-year-olds in a home together, it would be the ideal situation for them. Alvin (grey) is the wise peacekeeper; Simon (orange) runs with scissors, but with the blades protected; and Theo (brown) is learning to stand up for himself. Alvin & Theo or Alvin & Simon are excellent pair combinations. Simon or Theo could be adopted solo but would need a feline companion in the home.
All three will be on an adoption van this Saturday at Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn. Please spread the word and help us find these bonded triplets the best home(s) possible.
