The good folks at Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition tell us that there’s no better time to adopt a rescued Brooklyn cat than now, and, really, who could argue?
Thanks to the Maddie’s Pet Adoption Days promotion, a generous grant will cover your adoption fee on Saturday and Sunday at adoption events being held in Manhattan and Queens. You can adopt your next best friend for no cost and still support NYC’s nonprofit animal rescue community! Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition is a 501c3 cat/kitten rescue group based in Brooklyn.
On both Saturday and Sunday, BBWAC will be at the Union Square Petco (11 am – 5 pm Saturday, 12-5 Sunday) and at Pet Supplies Plus in Maspeth (74-17 Grand Avenue, 11 am – 7 pm Saturday, 11 am – 4:30 pm Sunday).
If you’re interested in getting pre-approved for adoption so that you can take your new feline friends home with you right away, please respond to BBAWC’s Craig’s List post. You can view all of the group’s adoptable cats here.
All BBAWC adoptable cats are healthy, vet-checked, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, micro-chipped, and treated for parasites prior to adoption. All adoptions involves an application process and tax-deductible donation; the donation will be waived if the adoption is finalized this weekend.
Some of the cats who would love to find their forever homes this weekend:
Jasper is a one-year-old boy, mostly white with brown tabby markings. This teenage lovebug is the perfect combination of easygoing, playful, curious, and snuggly. He would do great in just about any home: other cats, other pets, and children are all fine with him! Or Jasper could be your one and only cat.
Violet this nine-month-old tabby girl with white markings is an adorable and playful older kitten! She loves other cats and would do best in a home with another kitten or cat-friendly cat who can match her energy level. She enjoys cuddle-time with her humans by climbing up into your arms, purring away. Violet will sleep in bed with you every night.
Abbey Rose, a 0ne-year-old girl is mostly white with black markings. This chill teenager loves to be lying in your lap, being cradled in your arms. She gives hugs, nuzzles, and nose kisses, too. Abbey can be a bit skeptical about sharing her space with other cats – she might do best as a solo cat or in a home with a mellow cat-friendly cat.
