Corcoran Vacating First Floor At Montague And Henry Streets

Buried in an article earlier this week in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle is major news that Corcoran is “largely vacating” the first floor of its two-story digs at the corner of Montague and Henry streets. The realtor will maintain the second floor, but is opening a new office at One Pierrepoint Plaza in late fall, according to regional SVP Frank Percesepe.

As a result, one of the Heights’ most desirable retail destinations, at 124 Montague, will be given new life by year-end.

Brooklyn Eagle: Demand for prime Montague store sites is already intense. Some get snapped up even before their availability is publicized—such as the first floor of 124 Montague, which Corcoran is largely vacating while keeping the building’s second floor. A new tenant has been found for the space, sources said.

Those real estate listings always seem to be such attention-getters, I’m surprised they’d give those up. Especially for couples coming out of nearby restaurants and looking for post-dinner conversation topics. I always wonder though if the listings are ever updated or if the same apartments have been there for years, just used as bait to get people inside.
