Joralemon Residents Among Apartment Therapy’s ‘Small Cool Apartment’ Finalists

Webbie apartmenttherapy.com is hosting a contest to discover 2013’s best “Small Cool Apartment.” Its judges will determine finalists based on photos of “compact homes” (alongside homeowners’ tips for living well in >1,000sf), with online voting for a Grand Prize Winner in June.

Brooklyn Heights residents Justin and Matt, who live in a 590sf apartment on Joralemon Street, are among finalists in the “Tiny” division. See their home at the site.

Justin writes, “Our apartment is 99 years old and has managed to retain nearly all of its original detail, including Arts & Crafts style plaster molding, a gas fireplace and large windows with leaded-glass transoms. It’s warm and inviting, providing an interesting contrast to some of our contemporary art and furnishings.”

Entries for apartmenttherapy.com’s contest were accepted through May 20, with voting through May 31 and the online vote among finalists for a Grand Prize Winner June 4-5. The Grand Prize winner will receive $3,000, while four Division Finalists will each receive $750.
