Dellarocco’s Of Brooklyn Unveils Halloween Pizza

Recently opened Dellarocco’s of Brooklyn is scaring up a special spread for the upcoming holiday, with the unveiling of its “Halloween Pizza.” Toppings comprise pumpkin, smoked mozzarella and bacon. It’s the latest creation from Dellarocco’s Chef Pasquale Cozzolino. The “Halloween Pizza” is available upon request for $18 a pie.

Dellarocco’s, which opened July 31, is located at 214 Hicks Street, between Montague and Remsen Streets. It’s open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner from noon to 10:30 p.m., with take-out and delivery. The brick-oven pizzeria is owned & operated by Brooklyn-bred brothers Greg and Glenn Markman and Joseph Secondino. The three are also partners of the Heights Cafe next door at 84 Montague Street.

Ordered DellaRocca’s takeout over the weekend, as I had had a really good experience in their dining room a few weeks back. What happened? The ‘prosciutto” was just boiled ham, straight from a deli counter, and the artichoke hearts were straight out of a can.

    Very disappointing?

Should i give them another shot?

Artichoke hearts for cooking are out of a can/jar 99% of the time. Also, were you having speck? Thar is much more like boiled ham. I get food from their delivered and think its great — just overpriced.

Yes, John, give them another shot! My wife and I are there weekly now. Just such great food.

This my just be personal opinion, but I find that gourmet pizza (like Dellarocco’s serves) is always disappointing when delivered. Not sure why, but it’s worlds better when you eat there. Maybe the meat just had too much time to sit in the sauce and get soggy?

I had company a few weeks ago and ordered two pizzas and meatballs for take-out. The meatballs were not bad but the pizza was very disappointing. Back to John’s on Bleeker St. for us.

Went there in person last week and it was great. Haven’t heard raves on delivery but that’s more of a transport issue I’m sure they’ll work out.

Pizza is never as good when delivered as it is in a pizza joint. NEVER!

I ordered pizza form Dellarocco’s a couple of weeks ago. It arrived cold and soggy. It was so terrible that I called and complained which I hardly ever do. I guess I don’t know what I was expecting from the same owners as Brooklyn Heights Cafe. And on that note, I have no clue why that place is always packed since it’s always TERRIBLE. I must be the prime location.
