Housing should still be an option at the old precinct at 72 Poplar Street, Heights residents said at Wednesday's CB2 meeting. Brownstoner reports that a "large crew of locals" were at the meeting and presented a petition carrying 104 signatures advocating the building for residential use. The developer who purchased the property announced last month that they were abandoning its planned conversion of the site. The Land Use Board, including BHA Executive Director Judy Stanton, voted 9 – 0 in favor of the proposal. Brownstoner adds that it's likely the motion will be voted on by the full board on January 9.
