Beginning this morning, a new restaurant in DUMBO will be serving up breakfast and lunch right next to the York Street F station. Choice Market, located at 108 Jay Street, opens at 6 a.m. and stays open until lunch before expanding into dinner service in about two weeks. The space features a ceiling decorated by several local DUMBO artists.

DUMBONYC visited the market this morning and offers a full report including the fact that Choice offers Stumptown Coffee!

I assume these are the same people that run Choice in Clinton Hill. If so, I emphatically recommend the almond croissant and the macaroons. This place is pricey but gooooooood.

yum. looks like commercial, trans fat loaded, locally quasi produced food.

I used to love near the one in Clinton Hill. Good, but way overpriced.

wouldn’t it be nice if something of this quality or better would open on Montague street instead of the dismal selection of overpriced options?

You know, I’m a whiny pain in the arse but you guys always have the same complaints. Geez.

  • GHB

What’s overpriced? Do they charge $5 for a cup of coffee? $8 for a muffin? What’s the problem?

A small note, contrary to the last statement in the post, the ceiling was not designed by several local Dumbo artists but the ceiling and the entire space was designed and produced by Evan Douglis Studio, based out of Greenpoint.

The lighting fixtures were also designed by Evan Douglis Studio and each was hand blown at Urban Glass in Brooklyn

Stumptown Coffee aficionados: Choice sells a bag of Hair Bender for only $10. Everywhere else I’ve seen in NYC, including Peddlar and Iris sell the same bag for $12.
