PS 8 Reading Benefit with Gabriel Byrne

This Thursday, PS 8 will host a big reading benefit where the actor Gabriel Byrne, Brooklyn Heights resident and Golden Globe-winning star of HBO’s In Treatment, will join more than a dozen authors reading their works.

The event, Night to Celebrate Reading, will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the Umbrage Gallery on 111 Front St., suite 208, in Dumbo. Wine and cheese will be served, and the event is a suggested $20 donation. Author list after the jump.

The readings will be broken into two parts, one lasting from 7 to 8 p.m. and the other from 8 to 9 p.m.

    I saw him (Gabriel Byrne) at the Wine Bar the other night. He wasn’t appearing – lol – he was just eating dinner.

    I fought (successfully – thankfully) the urge to go over and ask him if he accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield. Yeah, yeah he’s probably heard that one a zillion times.

    I know it’s a tv show but he’s so good in that In Treatment show that you want him to be your therapist. And something about Irish men…:-)

    I think it was a great success. Some cast of characters these local authors are. And a great range of books. It was a real hit with Mr. Byrne’s reading at the end.
    I’m sure this will be written up in the local papers.
