The Brooklyn Cat Cafe seeks donations of clean blankets, towels, and sheets to deliver to Animal Care Centers of New York City as the city’s municipal animal welfare organization deals with the onset of kitten season.
Linens can be dropped at the Cafe at 149 Atlantic Avenue during opening hours on Thursday, May 4 to Sunday, May 7:
Thursday: 1 pm to 8 pm
Friday: 1 pm to 7:30 pm
Saturday and Sunday: 11 am to 7:30 pm
Later this month, the Cafe will celebrate its first anniversary with a party and silent auction on May 24 at Stone Park Cafe in Park Slope. NPR’s Ophira Eisenberg, host of Ask Me Another and Cat Cafe advocate, will attend, along with New York Times best-selling author Jennifer McCartney. The evening will honor Dr. Yvonne Szacki for her work on behalf of the animal rescue community.
Beginning May 10th, the Cafe will host a silent auction (I hear rumors of Hamilton! tickets) for which it is accepting donations of interesting, cool, fun, and/or unique experiences, services, or items that event-goers and online bidders would enjoy.
Contact the Cat Cafe if you’re interesting in donating; phone 347 946 2286 or meow@catcafebk.com.
100% of all proceeds from the auction and event will be used to benefit the Cat Cafe, which found homes for nearly 300 cats and welcomed over 40,000 visitors in its first year.
