THE POOL IS NOW CLOSED. IT WILL MOVE TO THE BRONX IN 2008.

The Floating Pool Lady is currently docked at Piers 4/5 aka Brooklyn Bridge Park Beach (Google Map)

A shuttle runs from Borough Hall every ten minutes and is located near the 2,3,4,5, R and J trains at Borough Hall station and A,C,E trains at High Street station.

Walking to the pool is easy – take Joralemon Street to Furman, make a right. The entrance to the pool is about 3/4 of a block from there.

While I think the Pool Lady is great and should be expanded to introduce a TheaterBarge, barges may be threatened by legislation in Albany where a movement to have them removed–including BargeMusic and the Red Hook Lackawanna Barge Museum–because of the environmental shadow they cast. My source is a highly placed NYC Parks Dept. official.

The barge should stay in Brooklyn!!!
