The American elm at the Mansion House [145-153 Hicks Street] has come down in the middle of the street, smashing a brick wall at the apartment building, and breaking a window at the house across the street. #Hurricane Damage on Clinton Street
Hurricane Irene took its toll on 144 Clinton Street, the former Doctor’s Office (and Bohack Grocery Store for old-timers). The entire 2nd floor window frame has been ripped out by the storm and is lying in the front yard. The building has been unoccupied, so no injuries.
Meteorologist: #Irene is All Hype
While we brace for the arrival of Hurricane Irene here in Brooklyn Heights, one meteorologist is calling it “Hype-a-cane 2011.” Paul Douglas, writing for the Minneapolis Star Tribune says Category 1 Irene is no Katrina, which was a Category 5 storm before it hit land.
