Fire Seriously Damages Brownstone at 121 Henry Street

The Eagle’s Mary Frost reports that fire caused serious damage to the brownstone townhouse located at 121 Henry Street, near the corner of Clark, this afternoon. The “all hands” alarm brought “[n]umerous fire engine and ladder trucks from across the city” to the site. According to Ms. Frost, “[a] firefighter unofficially told this reporter that the most serious damage was on the second and third floor.” There were no known injuries at the time of her report.

I walked through the area around 5pm and saw tons of fire trucks but no fire or smoke. Hopefully no one as injured. I’m curious as to what started it though.

One of the firefighters told me that no one had been hurt.

That is my house, started in my bedroom. One of the construction workers at the back of the house had a short circuit or explosion and my whole apartment went up into flames. I was able to check out the damage inside today and the whole place is in shambles, fire burned everything down to the studs.

Omg I’m so sorry man. At least you made it out alive. I don’t know if this is insensitive to say but I hope you have renter’s insurance.
