Atlantic Antic This Sunday

The theme of this year’s 43rd Atlantic Antic is “The Pulse of Brooklyn.” It will be held this Sunday, September 24 from noon to 6:00 p.m., rain or shine, on Atlantic Avenue between Hicks Street and 4th Avenue. There will be live and DJ’d music, food, vendors, activities for kids, and special deals from merchants along Atlantic. There’s a stage and program schedule here and street map here.

    Still love the Antic but feel like the food is getting more generic. What are your favorite things to eat at the Antic?

    Hot buttered corn. Also, the offerings from Sahadi’s, and The Chip Shop’s fish and chips.

    Was just going to posit that whatever the animating idea behind the Atlantic Antics was… well, it has long passed into street-fair mediocrity. And having it occur on the same day as other traffic-snarling events, that just makes it a bummer, if you ask me.
