Shots Fired On Old Fulton Street; DUMBO Party Blamed

The Brooklyn Eagle reports that an automatic rifle was discharged early Sunday morning following a DUMBO party, with bullets spraying into nearby residences.

According to the NYPD, a 21-year-old man was shot one time in the arm at roughly 1:30 a.m. at the corner of Water Street and Old Fulton Street. He took private transportation to Brookdale Hospital, where he is in stable condition, police said. Police sources did not release names as the incident is still under investigation.

Witnesses said they heard as many as 12 shots, and at least six bullet holes were found in Fulton Ferry Landing and Brooklyn Heights buildings. (Fulton Ferry Landing is wedged between DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights.)

While a local resident expressed concern about what she termed “gang stuff” in the neighborhood, the manager of the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory was certain that the shooting was linked to the party and dismissed any idea that it was related to visitors to Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Mr. Thompson noted that police presence was very visible in Brooklyn Bridge Park. He reported that a police car was parked near Bargemusic, the floating concert hall next to Pier 1.

While some residents assumed that the perpetrators were involved in a sports activity at the park, “It would be a mistake to blame this incident on Brooklyn Bridge Park traffic,” Thompson said.

    What I really think that there should be some kind of Heights/Dumbo neighborhood meeting to consider a basic response to this incident and even more importantly, seek strong measures to prevent any more incidents. Tell you one thing, there should be police dept cameras all through and surrounding BBP of a high enough resolution to REALLY cause arrests and convictions which stick and send an unmistakable message: NOT HERE MORONS….!

    No, what it shows that I am Outside of the left/right perspective. I can certainly understand why that would drive the mice in the artificially created left/right maze to distraction and infuriate a large number of these deep thinkers. I, like a growing number of patriotic American are simply now outside of the left/right control mechanism. Everyone can escape, just stop listening to the bad twins an look for a third solution.

    What I said is one of the most important core origins/ causal reasons for what is increasingly going on in the Heights. The old political control mechanism/mindset is in its closing moments, (after doing incalculable damage to western civilization) When you see a high product of western culture such as something like the Heights, increasingly damaged by destructive outside forces and internal corruption and no one in authority seems to be able or want to stop it, this is a function of the above core origin-control mechanism.

    We now have a brief moment to all step forward, shake our past channelized thinking and behavior and move to save the best things of Western civilization, a small fragment are spaces like the Heights. But we have to explore the control mechanism to properly replace it and most importantly, prevent the evils of the old system from reoccurring.

    I realize why the average casino type and their left/right robots, like one nonthinker I could name, would find such thought and speech to be treason to their (distructive/rancid) life systems. I invite them, and you, to make the most of my words….
