On Wednesday evening, February 25 at 6:30 the Brooklyn Historical Society will present the latest in its “Told it First Hand: Conversations with Hip-Hop’s ‘Do-ers'” series. This one will feature Albert Johnson a.k.a Prodigy of Mobb Deep (photo), urban crime novelist K’wan Foye, publisher Johnny Temple of Akhasic Books, and moderator Wes Jackson of Brooklyn Bodega. The topic is “Hip-Hop’s next frontier: the literary world.” Admission is $10, or $5 for BHS or Green-Wood Cemetery members; purchase tickets here.
On Thursday evening, February 26 at 6:30 there will be a tour of one of America’s largest private collections of African art and artifacts at the Clinton Hill loft of Eric Edwards. Artist Danny Simmons will be there to discuss the collection with Mr. Edwards. Admission is $15, or $10 for BHS or G-W members; purchase tickets here.
