What is the insane booming going on right now (Thursday night at 9pm)? Sounds like fireworks and/or Godzilla

  • gc

Fireworks in Hudson behind lower Manhattan.

  • gc

Apparently put on by Durst Org, a real estate development corp.

  • ShinyNewHandle

Probably can’t see the fireworks from behind the new real estate. *Cough*

  • WSGilbert

Will any installed in the North Heights or are we to be forgotten yet again!

  • Teresa

    Thanks, Ann.

  • lois

Yes, if you subscribed to NyCNotify, you would have been notified of the planned fireworks.

That building had one of the highest
amount of violations for a single bldg
In the city. Also, neighbors alledge that
    Its owned under such a
structure of holding and shell corps
that they have never been able to
find out who really owns the bldn

    Good catch
    signed,
    Remsem Street Dweller (accordingly)

Awoke at 2am to a torturous “humming” noise I would liken to what Hell on Earth would be like that went until 4am. Was coming from the Brooklyn Bridge construction. I think they really need to do that work during the day.

  • GHB

Gristede’s took out the bin by the door? Key Foods on Montague always had a bin for bags as well. It’s not near the door, but near the ice cream section.

  • Brixtony

I believe the Bridge was humming because it didn’t know the words.

Try CVS between the In and Out doors

  • AnnOfOrange

Decorated for the holidays: the derelict house on Columbia Heights (west side) middle of block between Clark and Pierrepont; it has a garland on the fence and wreath on the door. Anyone know who did it? Regardless…thank you!

  • ShinyNewHandle

After a few bars, that can happen…

  • WOW

well I wish it would suspend that behavior immediately…

I have never gone into Area Kids. The fact that they brag about being bagless means that if I had several toys to buy I would have to juggle them all the way home.
    Simply foolish on their part.
If I needed anything for a child I went to Heights Kids!

Do you that you can lodge a complaint with Alex Rothberg, the Brooklyn Bridge Outreach Coordinator at brooklynbridgeoutreach@gmail.com.
Complaints to 311 have been proved to be useless. Also try contacting your Council person and other elected officials, including Robert Perris at Community Board 2. Try contacting the press.

  • Roberto Gautier

Sleep deprivation has apparently made me a careless writer. I meant to write, “Do you know that you can lodge a complaint….”

  • Ann B Chapin

the old “Y”! I spent many an hour in the wonderful darkroom! Thanks Andrew.

  • WOW

    Thanks, Roberto
