50 Cent’s Power to Shoot in Brooklyn Heights on Yom Kippur

50 Cent’s “Power” is coming to take over the North Heights on Thursday, on many of the same streets affected by the “St James Place” shoot.

    i agree….but the real issue should be that the filming is taking place during Yom Kippur? so people observing and reflecting will have to deal with generator noise and crews making a racket after sundown.

    Yes, i understand this is a city, but undue noise on a fri night, during a holy holiday is unacceptable.

    To clarify, Yom Kippur begins at sundown on Friday so there isn’t really a conflict because of the holy day.

    This is a holiday of reflection, you obviously don’t have the crew sitting in front of your house all night smoking cigarettes, and running generators, like i do.

    I am taking issue with the noise and disruption the crews cause (per my note), during a night that is suppose to be about reflection. I understand normal city noise (having lived here my whole life), but i don’t think they should get permission to film during this holiday. They are filming until 11pm! I had a crane inches from my house on sunday night, with a light shining in all night!

    That sounds like a nuisance no matter what day it is. I hope you are calling 311. The holiday doesn’t matter. Saying the filming shouldn’t take place because it’s Yom Kippur is as ridiculous as the late Cardinal O’Conner saying baseball shouldn’t be played on Good Friday. Put the shades down, turn on the AC, pour some wine and reflect until your hearts content.

    The holy day starts at 7:00 PM so it’s only 4 hours of the holy day that will be interrupted. You might want to consider attending Kol Nidre services and then you won’t be home for most of the evening.

    Andrew, if those are high holy holidays than i don’t think filiming should be happening at 11pm…do you think filming should be happening at 11pm at night on a high holy holiday in any religion…i don’t think so.

    Don’t be an A$$. Film on Chanukah, Purim, Sukkot, etc., but NOT on Yom Kippur, out of respect to a large Jewish community.

    that’s the point Andrew…it should not be irrelevant…it is not a right to film, its a paid for activity that has to be approved by the city…all im asking is why are they approving a shoot at 11pm on a fri on a holiday.
