Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

Once again this weekend, Friday evening September 19 to Monday morning September 22, there are no planned cancellations, route diversions, or station skips directly and negatively affecting service at any local stations. If you’re traveling into Brooklyn, though, be aware that, just like last weekend, 2, 3, and 4 trains going in that direction won’t be stopping at Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza, or Eastern Parkway. To get to these stations, you’ll need to ride to Franklin Avenue and catch a Manhattan bound train back to the skipped station. Also, as if the restoration of R train service wasn’t enough, there will be more than the usual service in both directions at Court Street this weekend, as N and Q trains are being diverted to the R line all weekend.

The following week (Monday, September 22 to Friday, September 26) from 11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. nightly, there will be no 3 trains running in either direction; however, 2 trains will be running normally, so there will be service in both directions at Clark Street and at the 2/3 platforms at Borough Hall.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.

I am curious how long it will take for the MTA to clean up the vast piles of construction equipment for the “R” renovation from Montague Street, and from the Montague Extension at Furman Street.
