Gorgeous Cat Found on Monroe and Clark

Found this stunning feline around 8:30 am. Clean, seems healthy, very friendly, but no collar or tags. We’re on our way to check for a microchip.

Is she a street cat? Yours? New to the neighborhood?

Let us know in the comments…& shout-out to Jay, Stacy, and Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition for their help this morning.

MIRACLE ALERT: The kitty was microchipped and reunited with its family today!

I understand Mrs. Fink used the same technology on Homer…

Looks like a Bengal – a mischievous lot!

Her excellent condition and friendliness led me to suspect that she had a home, but someone said they’d seen her coming in and out of the abandoned house on the corner, and few neighbors said she looked familiar, and she didn’t have a collar, so I erred on the side of conservatism by treating her as a lost cat. My apologies for any distress/trouble I caused the owners–

@ Teresa – I saw this kitty in front of the wrecked house last week! A woman watching from the stoop next door told me that she was her cat. And she is a beauty, indeed. I think you did the right thing. Cats do wander off, never to be seen again…

    @ Andrew – LOL.

  • Teresa

    Thanks, Mary.

Also need to give a big shout-out to the good folks at the new vet clinic at Hicks and Cranberry. I’d never been there, and they were happy to have me bring the cat in and scan her and make contact with her owners. Incredibly thoughtful & accommodating.

Well this is great news considering that someone raised over $1000 to hire detectives to find that other kitty. http://www.gofundme.com/6br378

    this is indeed remarkable coming
on the heels of the return of “Lantern”
Which involved one of the biggest
    Search efforts in Heights history.

    Many congratulations to all involved.

Stop abducting people’s chubby house pets. There! I said it.

  • Yosemite Sam

    Interesting.

  • Warren Reston

So what did the detectives find out I wonder?

  • cindy s

The BEST thing to do is exactly
    What happened at 21 Monroe
    with Lantern, the owner and
    Various rescue activists did
    An actual Stake-out.

  • Jazz

No idea what you’re talking about.

OMG I love you. Thank you. Second time out cats have been abducted :)

  • Free Kitties

Yep she’s a Bengal. And VERY mischievous !

Hey- i just found a bengal female cat running out into traffic by the Gristede’s supermarket. She looks a lot like this kitty. I took her to the emergency vet hospital and they found a microchip and left the owner a message but no response. Wonder if it’s the same cat?

  • Teresa

Which vet did you take her to? Her family lives on Monroe, I believe, so that’s fairly far afield that she wandered.

  • David on Middagh

    Indoor-outdoor cats really need collars.
