Simon Gets NY Times’ Nod in 52nd AD Race

The New York Times has weighed in on the contest to replace Joan Millman in the 52nd Assembly District as Jo Anne Simon has been endorsed by the Times Editorial Board.

Assembly District 52 (Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, parts of Prospect Heights): Voters are fortunate to have two good candidates to replace the departing assemblywoman, Joan Millman. Jo Anne Simon, a respected lawyer, has been a stalwart worker for the community, helping to fight Vito Lopez, the borough’s tyrannical former Democratic Party leader. She is running against Pete Sikora, a union official who has worked with reform groups, including the New York Public Interest Research Group. Both candidates have endorsements they can be proud of, but Ms. Simon is well known for her dedicated work for the people of the district. Of two worthy candidates, Jo Anne Simon is our choice.

To hear Ms. Simon, Mr. Sikora and Brooklyn Heights’ own Doug Biviano talk about their plans for the district, join BHB for a candidates’ forum tomorrow night, 7 p.m. at St. Francis College (180 Remsen Street) reserve your seat now!

Yes Joanne Simon is the superior candidate

  • Doug Biviano

Simon just took $4,000 from Party Boss Frank Seddio whose law partner Frank Carone was SUNY’s attorney who shut down LICH.

NY Times also broke story about Hynes covering-up domestic abuse of women and child-abuse. Simon endorsed Hynes knowing this and now says in every mailer how she is going to strengthen domestic violence laws. It’d be ironic if it wasn’t so tragic for those abused because the real power to protect is in the politicians not the laws. The politicians have abdicated their responsibility to protect people to gain power.

NYT endorsement = kiss of death.
what most people in the district want to know is how much free stuff and free money is the new assembly person promising them?

Mr. Biviano, your seemingly bottomless bag of attacks is astounding, but when will you let us know how you plan to improve the legislature in Albany?

My vote goes to the candidate who promises me free Chassagne-Montrachet.

Who would that be? Pray tell?

Go back to Ohio, stewie. It is the other way around. How much “free stuff” will the candidates take from your friends, the real estate developers.
