Wondering What To Do This Weekend? Karl’s Video of Governor’s Island Makes The Decision Easy

There are many great weekends ahead this summer on Governor’s Island, so having a “I don’t know what do you want to do Marty” problem every weekend is totally avoidable. Check out the island’s schedule here. And watch Karl’s video to see more!

    In todays NYTimes:

“Governors Island, the former military outpost in New York Harbor, has become a big draw for recreational users since New York City took it over in 2010. This summer, for the first time, the island will have food trucks and tents on weekends and holidays through Sept. 28. Look for Sweet Chili’s Thai and Vietnamese dishes, Mayhem & Stout’s braised meat sandwiches, Carl’s Steaks cheesesteaks, DiSo’s Italian Sandwich Society, El Paso Taco, and Momos & Buns for Tibetan dumpling and bao buns: Kings Avenue, Governors Island, govisland.com .”

On a typical summer Sunday, Governors is a welcome reprieve from the crowded Brooklyn Bridge Park, though, I love BBP the other 6 days of the week. Ferries leave from Pier 6 on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 11:00 AM.
