Its roof was used as the location for Jimmy Smit’s pigeon coops during the TV series NYPD Blue. The first floor and basement apartment suffered a lot of damage during Sandy.

I was out on the promenade at 7:30, heard the boom and saw the smoke rising from the implosion on Governor’s Island. I also saw completely stalled traffic on the BQE due to some trouble further down the road.
